Fat Paint can take your trash to treasures with a couple of brush strokes and creative colour choices. Who can resist the lure of a curbside treasure hunt? I slow down everytime I see a jumble of furniture at the curb, hoping to find my next shabby chic transformation. Sometimes you get lucky, this mismatched pile of chairs called me over to the side of the road. A great find and even better was the fact that my trunk was empty and they all fit in my van. A little bit of wear but all solid wood in usable condition, SCORE!
DIY HEAVEN!
A quick pinterest search gave me tons of inspiration for the chair reincarnation. Armed with my “pins” and imagination, my next stop was Newcastle Home Decor & Design . I love having the support of a creative team to advise me on the latest colour trends and new products. I shared my vision for the chairs with Maureen and she quickly led me over to the display of artisan Fat Paint colours. This chalk style paint is made in Canada, comes in bold or soft colours , is easy to use and adheres to wood, glass, ceramic, plastic or metal. I decided to get a little wild and choose four colours for the most impact….and it was really hard to pick just one!
Loaded up with all my supplies and instructions I headed home to begin the transformation. Check out this video to follow along with the project and see the fabulous “new” chairs at my kitchen table. Be sure to subscribe to my youtube channel for more great videos.

I’ve got an old kitchen table that’s starting to look awfully tired, and the chairs could seriously use some TLC. But they’re solid wood and comfortable, and I hate the idea of wasting them, so I’m really into the idea of redoing the chairs. Because I’m also very much into woodwork and carving, I’m thinking I might get a little bit fancy-shmancy with the whole thing… now, I just need to figure out the best table to go with it all! Love what you’ve done with your chairs, and thanks for putting this giveaway together!

I feel the same way about good ol’ real wood furniture, too much life in them to get rid of them. Thanks for entering Sean!
